Calcutta format tournament scoring is now available in GolfHerd. Tournament scheduling and management expanded to incorporate Calcutta format requirements.
A major upgrade to GolfHerd’s tournament module is now in place. We’ve expanded tournament scheduling and management in GolfHerd to incorporate Calcutta format requirements, facilitate team play and streamline the tournament process for golf league administrators.
A new facility has been added for administrators to register tournament entrants. Posting tournament scores has undergone a major redesign with a more intuitive flow; reviewing tournament results has been expanded and improved as well.
We’ve added a Tournament Pricing option for GolfHerd which gives you 60-days access to GolfHerd for $49.95 for tournaments with less than 72 entrants and $99.95 for tournaments with 73 or more entrants. Afterwards, your league can convert to a continuing GolfHerd subscription at the prevailing rates.
Membership benefits
GolfHerd offers many membership benefits for your league’s roster. Members enjoy better interaction with their league through GolfHerd’s intuitive design. GolfHerd allows members to review the league’s golf schedule and tournaments through either an interactive calendar or via clearly-identified Membership Menu tabs.
Logging-in to GolfHerd, members can view the golf date schedule, see who’s signed-up for specific golf dates, select from open slots and sign-up in the foursome of their choice, request additional tee times for sold-out golf dates, review golf dates they’ve signed-up for, move themselves into different foursomes pending availability, and cancel themselves from golf dates… all without administrative interaction.
Members may log-in and update their GolfHerd profile information on their own. Members can view their league’s membership roster, which includes basic contact information of other members who have elected to share their information with other members; GolfHerd includes a privacy option in member profiles for those who do not choose to share their basic contact information.
Tournaments sign-up is also simplified with GolfHerd. By choosing the Tournament Sign-up tab or selecting a tournament from the calendar listings, members are efficiently guided through the tournament sign-up process, where they may elect to pay via check or PayPal.
When renewal time comes around, GolfHerd makes the membership renewal process easier too. With clear-cut, intuitive design, GolfHerd guides them through renewing their memberships online. Members with expired memberships who attempt to log-in to GolfHerd are automatically directed by to the online membership renewal process, where they may elect to pay via check or PayPal. Manage golf inventory and sign-ups
Manage golf inventory and sign-ups for your league’s golf dates and events with GolfHerd. Create, store and utilize data on one or multiple golf courses in your GolfHerd database; updating golf course information is simple too. Administrators can add, cancel or revise inventory for golf dates and tee times quickly and easily; GolfHerd allows differential pricing for member greens fees and guest / non-member greens fees also. Afterwards, quickly email updated golf schedules using this automated GolfHerd feature.
Of course, change is a fact of life too. Golf date rescheduled due to weather? Need to add tee times at a popular course? Advised by the course that your scheduled tee times are now going out as a shotgun start or vice versa? No problem! Using GolfHerd, you can revise greens fees by date and tee time to suit demand, including consolidating golfers into fewer tee times and cancelling empty foursomes for golf dates which aren’t selling well.
GolfHerd features automated golfer tee time sign-up and cancellation via the web for members. Your league can also elect to use GolfHerd’s automated non-member/visitor tee time sign-up feature; non-members cancellation requests go to the administrator for handling. All golfers receive confirmations of their tee times booked and cancelled automatically via email. Members can review their tee times, including playing partners, via the web when they log-in to GolfHerd and move themselves to a different foursome, pending availability. Administrators can email reminders by golf event to all golfers for their upcoming tee times prior to the golf date; this allows cancellations and revisions prior to the date of play.
Golf Tournament Management
Simplify golf tournament management with GolfHerd, including scheduling, set-up, registration, pairings, cart cards, starters’ lists, and scoring the results. Use GolfHerd’s tournament module to efficiently set-up your tournament components and co-ordinator. Format, including Calcutta, multiple component (entrant fee, multi-day play, pre or post events, mementos, non-player items) or single component (one course, one day) tournaments are easy to set-up or revise.
Once your tournament is set-up, send out an eblast to members or all profiles in your GolfHerd email list to promote it. Send supplemental eblasts as often as needed to promote your golf tournaments. GolfHerd’s built-in calendar keeps members advised of tournaments and non-tournament golf dates/events and each listing contains a sign-up link.
Automate your golf tournament sign-up process too. GolfHerd groups all tournament registration fee components (playing, social, mementos) into a single sign-up item. Non-entrant components (social, mementos) can be offered for purchase as well. Depending on your league’s choice, you can accept tournament payments via check, PayPal or both.

Set membership pricing and periodicity, review an accurate, real-time current membership list, add new members or renew current members and update members’ profiles, it’s all there for you under the Membership tab in GolfHerd.
Administrators set up membership types, including add-ons (e.g. USGA handicap, etc.) in GolfHerd and automate your league’s membership process. New and renewing members can go online, log-in to GolfHerd and join or renew themselves, including payment options of check, PayPal or both, depending upon your league’s payment options settings. GolfHerd’s reporting capabilities let you monitor the membership process in real time.
